For a long time we stuck with film, because we were traditionalists. We lacked the foresight to see that digital SLRs could reproduce the quality and subtlety of film. We were wrong. In fact, with instant previewing of pictures and virtually unlimited film, digital SLRs have surpassed analog cameras. Many of the latest cameras even have terrific auto settings allowing amateurs to produce good images quickly (although the best digital SLR can’t help you with composition!).
